Delete your account

You can delete your frienminder account and the information we hold about you at any time, in two ways.
In the app (immediate)
- Open frienminder and tap the ⚙️ gear on the Suggest tab to open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm twice. Your account is deleted straight away and you're signed out.
By email (if you can't use the app)
Email [email protected] from the email address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my frienminder account". If you write from a different address, we'll ask you to confirm it's your account before deleting anything. We'll delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and reply to confirm.
What's deleted
- Your login, profile, name, phone number (stored only in scrambled form) and home city.
- Your friends and friend requests, goals, contacts you added, groups you're in, plans, trips, busy times, notes and catch-up history.
- Your push token and notification history. Invite codes you made stop being linked to you.
Friends aren't told; you simply stop appearing for them. A friend's own reminder to keep in touch with you, saved from their own contacts, stays in their app, without any link to your account.
What's kept
- The record that you accepted the beta agreement (your email, the version, the date and time, and the app version) and our copy of the confirmation email. We keep these until three years after the beta ends, so we can show what was agreed.
