Child Safety Standards

Our commitment
frienminder has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and trafficking. Anyone who uses frienminder to harm or endanger a child will be removed and reported to the authorities.
Who can use frienminder
frienminder is for adults 18 and over. Everyone must confirm they are at least 18 when they accept our Beta Tester Agreement, and the beta is invite-only. We don't knowingly allow anyone younger to have an account. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.
What frienminder does and doesn't allow
frienminder helps friends find times to catch up. It is deliberately limited:
- There are no messages, photos, videos or files sent between people in the app. Texts and calls happen in your phone's own messaging and phone apps.
- Other people can see only your name and home metro area, times you've suggested, and, for plans and groups you share, the place name and group name.
- You can only plan with people who are your friends in the app, and friend requests need both people to agree.
It is prohibited to use frienminder in any way that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a child, including using names, group names, place names or notes for that purpose, or using the app to contact, locate or arrange to meet a child.
How to report a concern
- In the app: open a friend's page and tap Report a concern, or go to Settings → Block or report someone. This opens an email to us with the account details filled in. You can also block the person; they aren't told.
- By email: [email protected].
- If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number) first. In the United States you can also report child sexual exploitation directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at CyberTipline.org or 1-800-843-5678.
How we respond
- We review every safety report promptly, and child safety reports first.
- Where there is evidence of child sexual abuse or exploitation, we remove the account and preserve the relevant information.
- We report apparent child sexual abuse material as required by law, and cooperate with law enforcement and other relevant authorities in the countries where frienminder is offered.
- We may also remove accounts for other conduct that puts children at risk.
